supplies and tools.

vintage fabric! my new obsession. i've enlisted my mother-in-law to teach me how to sew things that are more complicated than the square pillow i've mastered. ;) i acquired some children's clothing patterns to learn on and these prints and cordurory's are just perfect.

i finally broke down and purchased the diana camera lens for my dslr. i thought it would be fun to take on our portland to san fran trip this spring. i don't know... it kind of seems like a hunk of junk. i need to play with it some more.

two down...

eight more to go. here are the first two completed frames of ten i'm refurbishing for this lovely mother's day gift package. each frame will be painted a lovely off white and matted for a 5" x 7" photograph.

emily's home.

this sunday young gun vintage started to get some crazy traffic and google analytics wasn't giving me any helpful clues. thanks to emily, this morning i discovered that my portrait of a young girl was featured in this past sunday's etsy column get the look decor. i wanted to post emily's home on my blog because it captures that perfect mixture of styles and its in Texas! i love how she blends substantial antique wood pieces with sleek mid century modern chairs and lamps. emily is a photographer...so she's also responsible for all of these lovely shots. see more of her home images on her website and her flickr and picasa albums.

a collaboration.

a very talented austin photographer/friend of mine, mel cole is offering a limited quantity of mother's day gift packages. she's asked me to supply some of my refurbished vintage frames to complete the package. i love all of her work. she and i share a fondness for vintage, so i'm super excited to be working with her on this project. click here to read all about the package! above image (including one of my refurbished frames) found here as well.

places we work.

tim and i wear many different hats, and our work takes us many different places. this piece i put together for our home represents our varied lifestyle. handwriting by rach.

order and caos.

did anyone see that episode of work of art? well, i submit my version of two opposing themes.

t. bobo photography. ;)

tim will tell you he's not creative, and i'll always disagree. yesterday i saw him through the window walking around with my camera and taking pictures. i couldn't wait to see what he captured. not bad.

12:40PM

home tour.

the other night i had my friends over for dinner and wine. katie brought her camera over so she could capture our home for a sneak peak on her blog sunshine texas day. this image was my favorite, because it included us girls. :) see the full tour here.

dirty, dusty, junk.

yeehaw! my bro and his wife are gearing up for a move, and above are two very useful items he bestowed upon me. the clamp flood light is for my product photography set up i'm working on. i'm trying to improve my etsy and enid online product shots. once i figure out my set up and what works i'll share. lighting is the biggest and most confusing obstacle i'm facing. i find it quite difficult gleaning from all the information out there what exactly works for me, with my budget, my equipment, and my studio space.

the crate of course is just great for organizing!
